NAP Information

We're thrilled to announce that PDRC was named a Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) organization for 2016-2017 by the Virginia Department of Social Services! The purpose of NAP is to encourage businesses, trusts and individuals to make donations to approved non-profit organizations for the benefit of low-income persons. PDRC was awarded $4,000 in state tax credits based on its proven operational success and capacity to serve low-income persons.

Individuals and couples who donate $500 or more and businesses who donate at least $616 will receive a Virginia tax credit equal to at least 40% of their contribution. This is in addition to the tax savings received for your tax charitable donation deduction. Please note that Federal and State tax savings may differ based on specific tax circumstances.

Additionally, the 2012 General Assembly approved, and Gov. Bob McDonnell signed into law effective July 1st, legislation that gives Virginia tax credits to mediators who volunteer at PDRC. The legislation was introduced by Delegate Michael J. Webert whose 18th district includes Rappahannock County and parts of Culpeper, Fauquier and Warren Counties.

According to PDRC Executive Director Lawrie Parker, “Del. Webert’s successful efforts will go a long way in helping the Center maintain a ready pool of volunteers to assist low income citizens in our community.”
