Press Release May 2011:
TITLE: Helping Families with Elder Care? Maybe?
Piedmont Dispute Resolution Center (PDRC) is moving forward, following the needs of the community into the field of elder care. As the baby boomer generation is steadily becoming the elder boomer population, it opens up many new needs. Families are often strained and pulled in many directions while trying to take care of aging parents.
PDRC is a non-profit, Piedmont United Way agency community mediation center with over 20 years of success in resolving difficult issues. The mediators are certified by the Judicial Council of Virginia and are trained to be neutral third parties who help disputing parties find solutions to their problems.
Mediation provides an opportunity for the family to speak and be heard about key issues that arise from aging. Some of these issues include care-giving responsibilities and support, independence and safety, guardianship, conflicts with service providers, medical treatment options, and estate planning and distribution. Sometimes these concerns can create family feuds; meditation works on strengthening the family relationship. It also decreases stress, arguments, it saves time and money, gives closure, and enhances relationship skills.
For further questions or information please visit our website www.PiedmontDisputeResolution.org or give us a call at 540-347-6650. We are conveniently located off of Main Street in Old Town Warrenton and are looking forward in assisting you and your family.
