Circuit Court Mediation
In Summer 2008, the Supreme Court of Virginia established a fee-based program for Circuit Court cases. When a Circuit Court orders parties into mediation, the Court orders them to select a mediator or mediation program from the Supreme Court of Virginia’s Circuit Court Mediation Program website: www.courts.state.va.us. If you select PDRC, we will conduct a no-cost orientation at which time you and the other party will learn more about mediation and decide whether it is a service that would be helpful. If you choose PDRC as your mediation provider, the Center will charge a fee based on our Fee Schedule.
PDRC’s circuit court mediators are certified by the Judicial Council of the Supreme Court of Virginia to accept referrals from circuit courts in either civil or family cases. Beyond their basic mediation training, they have completed advanced training in handling complex issues and multiple parties. Unless otherwise agreed upon by the parties, PDRC staffs all circuit court level cases with two mediators one of whom is a Virginia licensed attorney.
